There once was a leopard with lots of spots and a great big smile. One day
while looking in the mirror he realized that he was missing a spot. "Oh, no!"
said the leopard. "How could that be?"
The leopard went to the sheriff and told him what happened. The sheriff
asked, "Where did you lose your spot?" The leopard said, "Why, I think I
lost it taking a shower! Arrest the water, Mr. Sheriff." "Bring in the water,"
said the Sheriff.
The Water came in. The Sheriff asked, "Water, did you steal the
Leopards spot?" "Im not a thief," said the Water.
"Dont arrest me. Arrest the Soap!"
"Bring in the Soap," said the Sheriff. The Soap came in.
"Soap, did you steal the Leopards spot?" asked the Sheriff. "Im
not a thief," said the Soap. "Arrest the Sponge."The Sponge came in and
told the Sheriff that he did not steal the spot either. He said "It was just a speck
of dirt that came off, not a spot!"
Everyone in the room looked at Leopard. He was blushing because he was
embarrassed. The Sheriff crossed his arms and said, "Leopard, you lied. You were not
sure of your spots. Always remember that lies, no matter how small, are bad and telling
the truth makes a big difference when you accuse someone."
And from that day the Leopard never ever accused someone without making
sure he had the facts straight.
