The Invention

It was my birthday and I got the best present ever – a toolbox full of tools.

Luckily, my mom had just cleaned out the attic, basement and garage. There was a huge pile of throwaways: a radio, vacuum, answering machine, television, bicycles, computer, clock, radio, tons of toys and other stuff.

I set to work taking everything apart with my cool new tools.

When I was finished there was a huge pile of parts, circuit boards, wheels, wires, springs, nails, screws and neat stuff. I decided to make an invention. I set to work connecting the parts together. I worked and worked and worked.

Finally, it was finished. I put the batteries in, turned on the switches and waited. There was a strange noise. My invention began moving. Then it started to clean the house, play music, TV and computer games all at the same time.

Soon my invention and I were famous. We were in the newspapers, on television, even on Reading Rainbow! Now I am busy planning my next project.

I will build a ship…
